Welcome to QuickHello. By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using QuickHello at quickhello.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
To use QuickHello, you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Use the service for professional/business purposes (networking, contact management)
- Not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law
By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Private Beta Status
QuickHello is currently in private beta. By using the service, you acknowledge and agree:
- The service is provided for testing and evaluation purposes
- Features, functionality, and availability may change or be removed without notice
- The service may contain bugs, errors, or interruptions
- There is no service level agreement (SLA) — uptime is not guaranteed
- Data loss may occur — we strongly recommend regular exports
- We may discontinue the beta or your access at any time
- The beta is provided free of charge; this may change with notice (see Section 4)
4. Fees and Payment
During the private beta, QuickHello is free to use.
We may introduce paid plans or premium features in the future. If we do:
- We will provide at least 30 days' notice before charging for features you currently use
- You will have the option to export your data and close your account
- Billing terms, refunds, and applicable taxes will be detailed at that time
5. Description of Service
QuickHello is a contact management tool that helps professionals capture and organize contacts at events. Features include:
- QR code-based contact exchange
- Business card photo capture and AI-powered extraction
- Contact triage and organization (Accept/Revisit/Ignore)
- Contact export (CSV/JSON)
AI Accuracy Disclaimer: Contact information extracted from business card photos using AI (OpenAI Vision) may contain errors, omissions, or misreadings. You are responsible for verifying all extracted information before relying on it or sharing it with others.
6. Account Registration and Security
- You must provide accurate, current information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at hello@quickhello.app
- One person per account — accounts cannot be shared or transferred
- We may refuse registration or terminate accounts at our discretion
7. Your Responsibilities for Contact Data
When you use QuickHello to capture other people's contact information, you are responsible for:
- Lawful basis: Having permission or a legitimate reason to collect and store their information
- Appropriate use: Using their information only for professional networking purposes
- Honoring requests: Deleting their information if they ask you to
- Compliance: Following applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
You represent and warrant that you have obtained any necessary consents before uploading someone else's contact information or business card photo.
We are not liable for your use of contact data or any claims arising from how you collect, store, or use information about others.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree to use QuickHello only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:
Security & Access
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, accounts, or data
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent security features (including row-level security)
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the service without permission
- Probe, scan, or test for vulnerabilities without authorization
Content & Conduct
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights
- Upload business cards or contact information without appropriate permission
- Use the service to spam, harass, or send unsolicited bulk communications
- Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful code
- Share your account credentials with others
Prohibited Data Types
- Do not upload or store payment card data (PCI-DSS scope)
- Do not upload or store protected health information (HIPAA/PHI)
- Do not upload or store government ID numbers (SSN, passport numbers)
- QuickHello is designed for business contact information only
Reverse Engineering
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Do not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the service
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination.
9. Your Content and License
Ownership: You retain ownership of all content you upload, including business card photos, notes, and contact data.
License to Us: You grant QuickHello a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Store, process, and display your content to provide the service
- Analyze business card images using AI to extract contact information
- Create backups for service continuity
This license exists only to operate and improve the service. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
Content Removal: We may remove content that violates these Terms without notice.
10. Data Handling
Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- AI Processing: Business card images are sent to OpenAI for text extraction
- Third-party Services: Your data is processed by Supabase, OpenAI, Postmark, and Vercel
- Export: You can export your contacts anytime in CSV or JSON format
- Deletion: Request account deletion at hello@quickhello.app; data is removed within 30 days (backups within 37 days)
- Backups: Database backups are retained for 7 days for disaster recovery
11. Intellectual Property
Our Property: QuickHello, including its design, features, code, and functionality, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.
Our Trademarks: The QuickHello name, logo, and branding are our trademarks. You may not use them without written permission.
Your License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use QuickHello for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
Feedback: If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us the right to use them without obligation or compensation to you.
12. Third-Party Services
QuickHello integrates with third-party services. Your use of features powered by these services is subject to their terms. Please visit each provider's website for their current terms and privacy policies:

We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their handling of your data.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Defects will be corrected
- The service will meet your specific requirements
- AI-extracted contact information will be accurate, complete, or error-free
- Your data will not be lost or corrupted
BETA DISCLAIMER: During the private beta, these limitations are particularly significant. The service is experimental, and you use it at your own risk. Maintain your own backups via the export feature.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
We are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
- Damages arising from AI extraction errors or misreadings
- Damages arising from service interruptions or data loss
- Damages arising from your use of contact data you've collected
- Any third-party claims related to your content
Liability Cap: Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, OR
- One hundred US dollars ($100)
These limitations apply even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, or otherwise).
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless QuickHello and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you upload or create
- Your collection, storage, or use of third-party contact data
- Any claim that you lacked authorization to upload someone's information
16. Termination
By You:
- You may stop using the service at any time
- To delete your account and data, email hello@quickhello.app
- We recommend exporting your data before requesting deletion
By Us:
- We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, with or without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Conduct harmful to other users or the service
- Suspected fraud or security concerns
- Any reason during the beta period
- We will attempt to provide notice when reasonable, but are not obligated to do so
Effect of Termination:
- Your right to use the service ceases immediately
- We may delete your account and all associated data
- Provisions that should survive termination (IP, liability, indemnity, disputes) will survive
17. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Informal Resolution: Before filing any claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at hello@quickhello.app. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted in Wilmington, Delaware or remotely, at your election.
Exceptions to Arbitration: Either party may:
- Seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property violations
- Bring claims in small claims court if eligible
Class Action Waiver: YOU AND QUICKHELLO AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any class proceeding.
Opt-Out: You may opt out of arbitration by sending written notice to hello@quickhello.app within 30 days of accepting these Terms. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Delaware.
18. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date
- For material changes, we will notify you by email and/or in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect
- The latest version will always be available at quickhello.app/terms
Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service and may request account deletion.
We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
19. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and QuickHello
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not waive that right
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- Notices: We may send notices via email to the address associated with your account
- Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control
