QuickHello ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our service at quickhello.app.
1. Scope and Your Responsibilities
QuickHello processes two categories of personal data:
- Your Account Data: Information you provide about yourself (email, name, company, etc.)
- Contact Data: Information about third parties that you capture and upload (business cards, contact details)
We are the data controller for your account data and how our service operates.
You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis (such as consent or legitimate interest) to upload and process other people's contact information through QuickHello. By using our service to capture contacts, you represent that you have the right to collect and store their information.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, name, company, job title, phone number, and LinkedIn URL when you create a profile
- Contact Data: Information about contacts you capture, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, company names, job titles, and social media URLs
- Business Card Photos: Images of business cards you upload for contact extraction
- Notes: Any notes you add to contacts
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the app
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Cookies: Essential cookies for authentication and session management only
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Service: Create your account, display your QR code, process incoming contact requests
- AI Contact Extraction: Analyze business card photos to extract contact information (see Section 5)
- Send Transactional Emails: Magic link authentication
- Improve the Service: Fix bugs, develop new features, ensure security
- Respond to Support Requests: Answer your questions and provide assistance
We process your data based on:
- Contract performance: To provide the QuickHello service you signed up for
- Legitimate interests: For security, fraud prevention, and service improvement
We do not rely on consent for essential service functionality.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
Service Providers (Processors)
We share data with these third-party services to operate QuickHello:

Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety.
5. AI Processing (OpenAI)
When you upload a business card photo, we send the image to OpenAI's Vision API to extract contact information.
- What we send: The business card image only. We do not send your account information or other context.
- Data retention by OpenAI: As of our last review, OpenAI does not use API inputs to train their models. Images are processed and not retained beyond the API call. Visit openai.com for their current policies.
- What we receive: Extracted text fields (name, email, phone, company, title, social URLs) which we store in your account.
- Accuracy: AI extraction is not 100% accurate. Always verify extracted information before use.
6. Data Storage and International Transfers
Your data is stored in:
- Supabase: United States (AWS us-east-1 region)
- Vercel: Edge locations globally, with primary storage in United States
If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and our processors' compliance frameworks for lawful international transfers.
7. Data Retention

Export before deletion: We recommend exporting your contacts (CSV/JSON) before requesting account deletion.
Note on deletion: When you request deletion, your data is removed from our active systems within 30 days. Data may persist in backups for up to 7 additional days before being permanently removed.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:

Account deletion includes: Your profile, all contacts you've captured, all business card images, and your incoming requests. This action is irreversible.
To exercise any right, email hello@quickhello.app with your request. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies only:

10. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, row-level security ensuring you only access your own data, and passwordless magic link authentication.
11. Children's Privacy
QuickHello is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us immediately.
12. Private Beta Notice
QuickHello is currently in private beta. This means:
- The service may change significantly without notice
- Features may be added, modified, or removed
- Service availability and uptime are not guaranteed
- There is a higher risk of data loss than a production service
We strongly recommend regularly exporting your contacts using the built-in export feature. We are not liable for data loss during the beta period.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as we develop the service. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top
- For significant changes, we will notify you by email and/or in-app notification
- The latest version will always be available at quickhello.app/privacy
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
